  • itype is designed for primary school students (Prep to Year 6) and supports teachers in delivering structured, evidence-based typing instruction aligned with the Australian curriculum.

  • itype works on laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, Macbook and iPads with external keyboards. It is cloud-based, so there is no need to install software.

  • Students progress at their own pace,  but most classes can integrate itype lessons weekly. Each lesson takes approximately 10–15 minutes, allowing flexibility within classroom schedules. Engagement with the itype program at least 2 to 3 times a week, should complete the program within a semester. 

  • Yes. The program develops typing fluency, accuracy, and speed, with a learning outcome of automaticity when using a keyboard, ensuring students are prepared for NAPLAN Online writing assessments. Removing all cognitive overload for students using a keyboard.

  • Yes. itype reduces barriers associated with handwriting and provides structured, accessible learning that supports all students. Students can work at their own pace to complete the itype program. 

  • Teachers have access to a dashboard that tracks all student progress, accuracy, and speed. Reports can be generated for individuals or the entire class.
